How to recognize an original Ray-Ban Aviator Glasses

How to recognize an original Ray-Ban Aviator Glasses

Ray-Ban is undisputedly one of the hottest labels in sunglasses. Especially the popular Aviator glasses adorn some faces on hot summer days. But the popularity is also reflected in the black market. The result: huge quantities of fake Aviator glasses. To make sure you know which details you have to pay attention to when you buy an original Ray-Ban sunglasses, we have done the fake check exclusively for you.

1. The original Ray-Ban Aviator lettering

The characteristic writing on the original Ray-Ban sunglasses is sometimes the most important recognition feature. Nevertheless, you should take a close look at it, because this detail can be seen on almost all fakes. Make sure that the colour of the writing is white and that it cannot be scratched off with your fingernail. In addition, the slogan is always on the right lens of the glasses, where it is attached at a slight angle. In the case of polarized lenses, there is a “P” behind the Ray-Ban logo as a distinguishing mark.

2. The temples

Take a closer look at the temples and make sure that the outer sides of the temples have the Ray-Ban logo on them. Inside the temples, you should find the model number, the name of the colour and an internal abbreviation. The names consist of letters and numbers. On the official homepage of Ray-Ban, you can check if your model number exists at all because unfortunately many plagiarisms are also equipped with such a number. On the inside of the other hanger you should be able to see the Ray-Ban logo, the writing “Made in Italy” and “CE”. The latter guarantees that the manufacturer adheres to established EU safety standards.

3. The nose pad

Ray-Ban Aviator Nose Pad

With the classic Aviator sunglasses, you will usually find transparent plastic nose pads. Also, make sure that the metal core has the logo “RB” engraved on it. However, if you already own an older model, it is possible that instead of an “RB” there is a “BL” and the pads are pink instead of transparent. When viewed from above, in many cases there is also the inscription “B&L RAY-BAN USA”. You should be very attentive if the described engravings are missing or the workmanship of the nose pads leaves something to be desired.

4. Ray-Ban Aviator: The case

The original Ray-Ban case is usually made of real leather and has the Ray-Ban stamp on the outside left. In the middle of the stamp there is the Ray-Ban writing, above “100% UV protection” and below the writing “Sunglasses by Luxottica”. Again, take a closer look at the workmanship and quality of the materials used, if these are defective, it is very likely that the product is not original. Don’t be fooled by an original Ray-Ban case, because that doesn’t mean that there are also original glasses in it.

We hope that the tips have helped you and that you are in possession of the original Ray-Ban sunglasses. You can find many more fake checks in our journal.
